Former Clemson guard makes Detroit NBA summer league roster

by -

Former Clemson guard Marcquise Reed will play for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA summer league in July.

Reed picked up third-team All-ACC honors after averaging career-highs in points (19.4), rebounds (5.5) and steals (2.1) last season. He finished 12th on Clemson's all-time scoring list (1,484) and leads the school all-time in free throw percentage (85.9).

The Pistons will begin play on July 5 versus Croatia in Las Vegas (3 p.m./NBA TV) and then play the Portland Trail Blazers on July 6 (3:30 p.m./ESPNU).

He is a second announced Tiger from the 2018-19 roster to play in the summer league, with forward Elijah Thomas on the Charlotte Hornets roster.

He was originally announced to be playing for the Houston Rockets.
