Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Friday that former Clemson cornerback
Cordrea Tankersley is out for the season due to injury.
Gase said the second-year pro took a "weird step" at practice and tore his ACL. He had posted five tackles in action over six games this season. After a third-round selection last season, Tankersley started 11 games with seven passes defensed and 31 tackles. He also missed time due to shoulder and ankle injuries. Tankersley was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe and Bednarik awards and a first-team All-American in 2016. He totaled nine interceptions and 22 pass breakups over his Clemson career.
