Clemson drops in latest Coaches Poll

The College Football Playoff rankings are set to come out in a little over a week but a top-5 upset in the current polls provided some minor shuffling.

This time, the Coaches Poll dropped Clemson, moving them down one spot to No. 3, trailing Alabama (40 first-place votes; 1,593 points) and LSU (7 first-place votes; 1,515). Dabo Swinney's Tigers still have 10 first-place votes (1,491 points), which is the second-most, also ahead of No. 4 Ohio State (8). Penn State rounds out the top-5 after Oklahoma’s stunning 48-41 loss at Kansas State, dropping to No. 9.

In the top-four group this week, Alabama downed Arkansas, 48-7, LSU topped previous No. 9 Auburn 23-20, Ohio State rolled former-No. 13 Wisconsin 38-7 and Clemson dominated Boston College, 59-7.

Clemson’s lone ranked opponent, Wake Forest, moved up to No. 22 during a bye week.
