No. 2 Clemson is headed back to the Lone Star State for a second time this season and a first trip to the Cotton Bowl since 1940.

ESPN announced the game times for the Dec. 29 playoff semifinals Sunday afternoon and the Tigers (13-0) will take on No. 3 Notre Dame (12-0) at 4 p.m. on ESPN. No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Oklahoma hold the 8 p.m. time slot in the Orange Bowl on the same channel.

Dabo Swinney's Tigers have made four-straight Playoff appearances and are seeking a second national title in three seasons. Notre Dame is making its first CFP appearance and will compete for a national title for the first time since the 2012 season (a 42-14 loss to Alabama).

Clemson opened as an 11.5-point favorite, which is the first time the Tigers have been a favorite going into a CFP game.
