NFL first-round pick and former Clemson All-American defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence signed his rookie contract on Friday.
Lawrence, who was picked No. 17 overall by the New York Giants, is the second of three former Tigers selected in the first round to sign their deal, with a projected contract of $13.2 million with $7.6 million guaranteed. Lawrence tallied 162 tackles (20 for loss), 11 sacks, 43 QB pressures and five pass breakups over 36 starts (40 games) at Clemson. He officially joins former Clemson running back Wayne Gallman and linebacker BJ Goodson on the roster. Former Clemson D-line teammate Christian Wilkins signed his rookie contract in May for $15.4 million ($9.2 million guaranteed). No. 4 overall pick Clelin Ferrell is still among five of the top-six selections to not sign a contract as of yet.
