Clemson DE enters transfer portal

Former four-star defensive end prospect Richard Yeargin has decided to continue playing football and has entered the NCAA transfer portal, he informed Clemson coach Dabo Swinney on Monday.

Yeargin suffered a neck injury in a car wreck that forced him to miss the 2017 season and Swinney announced before the 2018 campaign that Yeargin was pushing “the pause button” on his football career. He served as a student coach last season.

The University School (Fla.) product tallied 29 tackles, five for loss, with five quarterback pressures over 22 games as a redshirt freshman and sophomore in 2015-16.

He was a first-team All-American as a senior in high school (Maxpreps) after totaling 85 stops, 21.5 for loss, with 15 sacks.
