NEVADA OVERVIEW • Nevada is led by second-year head coach T.J. Bruce. • The Wolf Pack defeated Sacramento State 6-5 on the road on Tuesday. They are hitting .271 and have a 5.85 ERA and .970 fielding percentage. • Grant Fennell is hitting .326, while Keaton Smith is batting .310 with four homers and 20 RBIs. QUICK HITS • Clemson plays 11 regular-season games after final exams in 2017. In 2016, the Tigers played 16 regular-season games after final exams. • Rep. Gary Clary & Sen. Thomas Alexander co-sponsored a concurrent resolution through the state legislature recognizing Seth Beer. • They will recognize Beer before Saturday’s game for his 2016 accomplishments. TIGERS RECOGNIZED FOR APR SCORE • Baseball was one of six Tiger programs in the top-10 percent of their sport nationally in the eligibility, graduation and retention metric. • It was the first time the Clemson baseball program was lauded by the NCAA for its APR. • Clemson was the only ACC institution to earn recognition for baseball. COX THE SENIOR LEADER • Graduate Andrew Cox is the team leader of the 2017 squad, has been solid at the plate and showed off his glove at first base. • He is hitting .279 with three homers, five doubles, 22 RBIs, 22 runs, a .368 on-base percentage and five steals in 44 games (41 starts). • In his career, he is hitting .241 with 15 doubles, a triple, five homers, 49 RBIs, 62 runs and 14 steals in 168 games (126 starts). • He is a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
