CLEMSON -- Dallas, GA offensive lineman Nathan Bennett committed to Clemson after visiting the Tigers this weekend according to MickeyPlyler.com

The 6-foot-4 295-pound Paulding County senior had committed to Mississippi State when he visited there 2 weeks ago but decided to switch to Clemson because he said it was a better fit for him and it was closer to home.

“He is strong aggressive, run blocker, “said high school coach Lynn Rowe. “He has made great strides playing the past three years.”

Paulding County advanced to the AAAA semifinals this season behind Bennett. The team ran the wish bone and according Lowe, "everybody in the stadium knew it was going to be run behind Nathan." The team lost just twice in 2001, the second time coming in the semifinals against Dalton, 22-3 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Bennett bench presses 350 lbs, power cleans 305 and deep squats 435.

Clemson assistant Ron West recruited Bennett for the Tigers.
