Special Notice Come Early

Clemson Ticket Manager Van Hilderbrand is urging fans to arrive in

Clemson early on Saturday for the Tigers football opener with

Georgia. Over 83,000 fans are expected for the game, the largest

home opening day crowd in Clemson history and the largest crowd ever

to see a Clemson vs. Georgia game in Memorial Stadium.

Two years ago Clemson had a 12:00 noon start for a Homecoming

game with North Carolina and many fans missed the first quarter,

never mind kickoff because of the large attendance for the early

game. With an early kickoff, fans tend to arrive at the same time.

Hilderbrand is urging everyone to adjust their departure time so they

can get to Clemson in time for kickoff.

Clemson Injury Situation:

Out-Todd McClinton, second-team defensive tackle due to

feinting spells suffered during preseason. Will miss the entire

season.

Special Honors

The Clemson men's golf team will be honored prior to the game

on Saturday. Larry Penley's Tigers won the 2003 National

Championship at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, OK, the first national

championship for the Clemson golf program. Coach Penley will also

receive his national Coach of the Year Awards. The Clemson team

will be presented with the 2003 Frank Howard Award (bringing honor to

Clemson University)

Parade of Athletes

Pregame festivities will include the Clemson Parade of

Athletes. All varsity athletes in all sports will parade around the

floor of Clemson Memorial Stadium prior to the game. The group will

be led by the 2003 National Champion Clemson Golf Team.
