and it fills me with rage each time.
Incident #1 - Greenr has a portable basketball hoop. It's a cheapo because our driveway is on a slope and so it cannot sit permanently alongside the driveway. That would be terrible for basketball and terrible for wind to blow that bish over. So it stays in the garage and we roll it out to use it. One evening a storm came up, it was getting dark and so I quickly rolled it to the side. It was left in the roadway (not a thoroughfare, mind you, an end street) overnight. I actually put the end of it under my truck just to be sure it didn't blow into the road and cause problems. Put it in the garage around lunchtime the next day.
Letter from HOA telling me we cannot have basketball goals in the road r/w with pictures of the "incident".
Incident #2 - Greenr gets a letter from HOA informing him that the weeds are growing in the expansion joint cracks in the driveway and needs to be cut with accompanying pictures. I know of 3-4 other people who got the same letter. Neighbor decided to scrape his out with a shovel late one night. He was angry AF as well. Just a bunch of busybody bullshidd that some old fuck on a golf cart rides around and comments on.
Neither ended in fines, but it angers me so much when they send me a letter. I think I know who the asshat is that rides around checking, but I'm not 100% sure. He was staring between mine and my neighbors yards the other days, assuming he was looking at neighbors kayaks and surfboards that had blown over in a storm.

I did that once years ago and they didn't send me anything for a couple years.
I can never live in an HOA neighborhood again. When I got the ticket for having my garage door open too long, I knew it was time to leave the HOA lifestyle for others.
