All due respect to the historical greats, but football is different. As much as we like to think all the greats of the old days could step in and still perform, the fact is they probably couldn't. The game is much faster, and the players are much bigger and stronger. So given that, I'm going to stick to the past decade or so and go with two guys that would fit seamlessly into this team instead of overloading a position of strength by bringing back a WR or QB for example. Give me Dwayne Allen and Ben Boulware. We haven't had a good 2-tool TE since Allen left, and his run blocking and mismatch ability in the intermediate area of the field would make this already dangerous offense legitimately unstoppable. Boulware is lacking in athleticism, but this defense has premier athletes all over the place that can cover for that. Boulware would be the spark plug at MLB and could step up to lead a very talented, but very young group.
