Wow, do we ever have a running start on this one.

That would be a great step in the right direction for sure. Accountability for NIL 'values' and accounting for what's owed to keep America great.

From that story...
"Plus, the settlement requires NIL collectives’ payments to be a valid business purpose related to the promotion or endorsement of goods or services provided to the general public for profit. This aligns with the long-time push from many in college sports’ administrative class to help ensure that donor-led collectives are engaged in what they call “authentic” or “true” NIL deals, rather than overt so-called pay-for-play transactions for recruiting and retention purposes."
Who isn't going to want a fine, upstanding, Clemson Lady or Gentleman representing them to the world? We got this.

the idiocy of try to set some rules after this was run for several years. Please. What a joke. That was what that committee was supposed to do up front.

A nice thought, but Pandora's Box has already been opened - best of luck repairing the damage.

But I’m not seeing a salary cap for NIL.

Many schools will not agree to this. They have learned how to buy players and they like it.

If it's a court order, it won't matter what any schools thinks, and if they get caught, that will be in blatant attempt of court and the penalty could range from fines or in prison or both. Screw with the courts and you'll be the one that ends up getting screwed DRY!!!

Wrong the ncaa can certainly apply regulations to how student atheletes receive NIL. Congress when ruling on the Obannon case was not meaning for NIL to come from some collective..Congress was saying the NCAA could not stop a student athelete from entering into a business deal with a legit business for that student athelete to represent that business.

See the federal injunction in the states of Tennessee and Virginia vs NCAA that prohibits it.

and the injunction in the State of Tennessee vs NCAA case.
It is patently illegal for a third party to interfere with a private business deal between two other parties.

So what you are saying is no rules or regulations on the financial side of things.
Do the pros not use arbitration in salary disputes??

Pros are unionized, have collective bargaining and are deemed employees in the NFL. Quite different from our current circumstances.

They don't sign employment contracts, nor are they eligible for Worker's comp.
Those things equal "not employees".
