Mom was supposed to move to Assisted living this morning, but while she was eating her breakfast she became nonresponsive and fell asleep. She may have had a seizure but I am not sure. Had to call 911 and am at hospital now waiting to see her. Not sure why I can't go back yet and it has me extremely worried.
***10AM UPDATE***
Its bad. She has had a massive stroke on the other side of the brain. She will be a quadriplegic and bedridden, if she survives.

My mother had a uti once and I thought she was having a stroke. She became totally unresponsive. You, and your family, are in my prayers.

Suzi, praying for your mom & your family. I'm thankful you were right there to call 911 as time really matters with stroke patients.
Clemson80's advice to test for a UTI is a good idea, especially if your mom is already very fragile. A good friend went through several episodes with her mom where they feared the worst, but on more than one occasion her mom improved as the UTI cleared up. No matter how those lab results turn out, it will give you a little bit of peace to either know that is not an issue for her, or that they can at least treat the infection.
Please remember your Clemson family loves you and is there for you as you are there for your mom.

We went through this last year with my dad. Massive stroke leaving him paralyzed except for his left arm and unable to talk. He was able to recover some and get a better quality of life, so try and stay as optimistic as possible. My dad did much better than the hospital expected ( they were pushing hospice) but It was a rough road.. currently he is in a nursing home now doing well.

My mom passed in 2014. She was 98 and lived by herself. I was ut of town and still regret not being there with her. I hope this turns out well, but know that God has a plan and you will find solace in it. Godspeed....

Was about 4:30 today. 5 hours later she is still hanging on. Please pray for peace and comfort for her on this journey and to help her know she can let go.
This has been the hardest decision I have ever had to make.

It's been almost 17 hours since we removed the vent. She is not on any life support, but being the strong (&stubborn!) woman she is, she is still hanging on. Still comatose, and it's just a matter of keeping her comfortable until she passes. I can't begin to explain the myriad of emotions I'm feeling, and I thank you my Tigernet family for supporting us both the past 4+ years since her first stroke. It's wild how comforting a virtual family can be and I'm grateful for each of you, even on your craziest days!
