Thoroughly enjoying this series of articles. Really great summer reading.
I would actually put this victory over the ##### at #1, for a reason cited in this article. It became a "no-brainer" that Coach Swinney would be the coach, not just the interim coach, after this game.
Thanks for this series. Go Tigers!

Lose this game and there is a decent chance Dabo is a no go (as head coach).

I would rank wins over Oklahoma, ND and Alabama higher. I understand the importance of the win but it's not like they were any good. Their QB's name was Smelley for xxxxxx sake.

scared to effin death. He's putting on a brave face for his guys and the fans but knows "this is it." Now when you see his demeanor up there there its a look of assurance that "we are GOING to dominate." Calm, confident, and top of the mountain. How awesome is it to see the transformation of this program from that day to now. ITs GREAT to be A TIGER!

1) Dabo has aged a bit since '08 2) our unis are now better

WAY better. Tiny paws and thin piping. Ugh.
We now have a program that makes Nike do the uniforms we want, not use templates everyone else has.

I'm gonna say it because I'm willing to admit that I was wrong, very very VERY wrong and it's kept me humble in my opinions since.
I liked Dabo enough in the early pressers during the interim, he was gracious to TDP and CTB. But, like many, I thought he was too young and inexperienced to be named a head coach of Clemson. He hadn't even held a coordinator position and wasn't a favorite son so there was no reason to go out on a limb for him.
On the list of potentials, I liked Will Mushchamp at Texas and the energy he brought to the sideline. The guy was a loose cannon and a seemed like a good shift from CTB's style to something more engaging. Just days before the 2008 South Carolina game Texas named Muschamp the "Coach In Waiting" and I figured: heck, if he's good enough for Texas it may be worth the money to buy him out of that.
The 2008 South Carolina game gave me pause, not completely changed my mind but definitely convinced me that Dabo had control of the team. The newbie went up against Spurrier and embarrassed him.
I still didn't learn my lesson because I wasn't initially keen on the Chad Morris hire either. A High School coach? WTH? Like the idiot I am, I actually thought Ralph Friedegan would've been a decent hire.
Well, after I was proven wrong again I've decided to just enjoy the ride - and holy moley what a fun ride it's been!

Kind of wish I'd kept forgetting about him, to be honest, but seeing the name does bring a smile back to my face.

Didn't we run a similar play to the Ford touchdown with Charlie Whitehurst at QB?
