Could swear I just saw a B52 fly over GVL

Didn't come from GSP. Was kinda low level - maybe 7000ft or so, give or take. Didn't show up on my radar app. Pretty unmistakable profile, though. Anyone else catch a glimpse?

more years ago, but I went to see this exhibition of classic WW2 aircraft at Donaldson. P-51s, Zeros, etc. Paid like $300 to go up in a B-17. I don't if they still do stuff like that, just a guess.

No, unmistakable narrow fuselage and long swept back wings. All the WW2 bombers were straight wing. I was driving, otherwise I would've gotten a picture. But the time I found a spy to pull over it was heading into the clouds, heading kinda southeast.

Could have been from Shaw. Might have been helping Prophet with security over the landfill known as willy b and decided it wasn't worth saving.

I witnessed an F15 perform a practice bombing run at Mach+ just above ground level (much lower than 7000 ft). I knew the direction it was going to approach and was watching for it. It only took 2 seconds from when I could see it on the horizon to when it was on top of me making its drop and performing a roll maneuver to head back in the direction from which it came...with another F15 trailing on its wing performing the same maneuver. An enemy without radar would never know they were hit. Then I got hit by the sonic boom and thought I was dead.

I believe they work on military aircraft at Donaldson and then fly them to GSP to fuel. I have seen a bunch of flights while my son was growing up playing at Conestee in little league baseball

I work right beside the airstrip at the Donaldson Center. I spend my lunch time sitting in my car watching all the jets and stuff take off. I know officially they work on the F-16s there, but Ive seen everything from F-22s to big cargo planes. I haven't seen one of the new F-35s though. that would be pretty cool!

Probably from Donaldson. Lived out there after Sept11th and the loud roars of those old jets getting ready for service again was comforting and worrisome

All wrong.....was a 747 delivering parts/engines to BMW. The flight comes from Germany like 2 times a week! Have tracked it using Flightaware.

No, it wasn't those. My office is in the flight path of GSP. I see those 747s (and hear them!) all the time. They're also easily tracked on the Flight Aware app I use. The plane I saw yesterday was not visible in the Flight Aware app, so it's transponder was off - it was definitely a large plane and was definitely there. Only military aircraft would be visible by sight but not by flight radar. This was definitely a B-52 - the huge, dramatically swept back wings, and the super narrow boxcar-like fuselage. I'd have snapped a picture but was driving and not in a place where I could pull over quickly or safely and it soon disappeared into the clouds.

No it wasn't. I watched it go over my house. A 4 engine 747 or had 4 engines. B-52 has 6 in 4 clusters. I live in the flight path of GSP. I was outside and it went right over me. It was not a B-52. Just saying.

Found some pictures on a Greenville plane spotting page on FB that some folks were able to get. Definitely a BUFF/B-52. Pretty cool.

I live in the Spartanburg area in a big subdivision with lots of houses and I saw one fly so low it shook my house. I swear it looked like it was touching the treetops. This was several weeks ago.

I think I heard it fly over around that same time. Didn't get outside fast enough to see it.
