These national leaders who kill the golden goose to play their games, it just amazes me. China has soooo much to gain by being a trusted producer of products around the world. So's whose bright idea is it to put some undocumented communication equipment into products used in our energy infrastructure? Actions like this, even if benign, cause mistrust and tilt the table away from using their products. I think about this often with Russia's activities. All the efforts to tamper with elections and to cause unrest through social media campaigns. You're an enormous country with endless natural resources. You bridge Asia and Europe and you couldn't fill your country, population-wise, in 500 years. So just play nice and prosper. But no. They have to play games. The damage done to Russia as a result of the Ukraine invasion is enormous. And for what? Even if it worked, you have a Ukrainian puppet. Good faith relations with the country would have given you as much, but you have to TAKE it? Now you've cost your country billions in military equipment, destroyed trade relations and confiscated funds. You've lost about a million citizens to emigration and hundreds of thousands more to the war. FOR WHAT!?! You would be far more prosperous to simply work with other countries in good faith. It boggles the mind.
