The rule is if you post about a broken rib, you must tell how it happened. An example would be bikers asked you to leave their bar and you refused so a fight ensued. Another example would be your wife asked if she looked fat in her new jeans and you weren’t thinking clearly.

Getting ready for bed and tripped over my pants. Hit the bed post and was immediately somersaulted to floor. I didn't ask the doctor to check but may have to go back and have my knee x-rayed. Not sure if it is cracked or what. Hurts like hail!

First and foremost, I wish you a quick recovery. Secondarily, as someone who has also stumbled in head scratching ways, your description gave me a good chuckle. I have tripped over the vacuum cleaner cord and sprained a wrist on the fall. I missed a step hiking, was between my wife and daughter, and tumbled down an embankment. Several years ago, I missed the last step coming down the stairs and had a concussion. It seems we have something in common!

She yelled out that is my husband, he just pulled in the garage. pants on, shirt in hand, jumped from 2nd story window. Landed on garbage can. Rolled over and took off to where you parked your car.
Good thing you didnt wear socks and left them behind. The ribs will heal in short order.
Mine did ! Moral of story- no second floor bedrooms!

Dang MfO hoping for a quick recovery. Not even sure how long something like that takes to heal but can’t imagine that pain being in the area that constantly contracts.
Have had a few unexplainable falls in recent years but been fortunate in that I did not break any bones. I’m sure Jr. is taking good care of you!

Ouch! Yep, broken ribs are very painful. But I’m disappointed that you didn’t come up with a better story about how you tripped over your pants. Something like running out of her bedroom as her husband entered the front door?
So now that you and Jr are both injured, will you be hiring a nurse that makes house calls?

Do they ever. Hopefully no sneezing or anyone telling funny jokes for a couple of weeks. I broke mine racing go carts about 15 years ago and tried to play golf the next day ...... carrying only a wedge and a putter, it was still unbearable, but had gone all the way to California to play, so by golly, I was going to play.

Second time it’s happened to me. This time I fell on my side while kicking a soccer ball in wet grass (lame). Fractured my 9th rib. Took about 12 weeks to heal (which was a lot longer than when I broke one when I was younger). I’m finally back to normal.
Rib injuries suckkkkkkk.

A guy goes to the dentist with 3 broken teeth. The dentist asks "What happened?" The guy says "Well, my wife decided to cook fried chicken last night but it was overcooked and extremely dry and hard. The dentist says "You should have told her it was overcooked and refused to eat it." The guy says "That's what I did."

I cracked 3 ribs about 5 years ago, and the toughest part was figuring out how to roll out of bed due to the intense pain with that particular movement. I finally discovered that the trick was to take the deepest breath possible, hold it, and roll over and out. I think holding the breath acts as a splint, so the broken ribs aren’t poking against the chest wall. I hope that might help someone else. It took me 6 weeks to play golf again.
