He aimed for him the whole time with the goal of injuring one of our secondary. That is outside the scope of the game.

Yep, Emmett Rice is a piece of trash and that was clearly an attempt by their team and probably a direct request by their coaching staff to take one of our secondary starters out of the game since we are already thin, young and small in the backfield.
It was obvious he was told to do it because he made the "Shhh!' gesture with a finger to his lips on the sideline with a big grin on his face.
And also, the back judge basically gave them a drive to put them back into the game with multiple BS PI calls, the 2nd one in particular was bad as our defender had just as much right to catch the ball and was in position and they were both grappling.
I think the phantom late hit on Ferrell was on that drive as well (don't remember for sure)? Regardless, that was complete BS and totally obvious that the refs were feeling sorry for Blackman for getting planted hard 3-4 times prior. I'm sure Jimbo was in the refs ear about his QB taking hits (all clean) since he is a whiny ##### that always gets his way with the refs.
The game shouldn't have been close. But the refs literally dragged FSU down the field to score which gave them the momentum and rattled Kelly Bryant, who looked horrible again.
For some reason, I get the feeling that the Playoff Committee doesn't want another Clemson/Bama matchup because the refs have been taking some serious snipes at us in several games now. I really don't know how we've survived it so far TBH.

Just like I said, he got away with targeting in the first quarter without a hint of a flag!!! I called both of them out to my wife both times, but we did get a flag on the second one finally!!!

Not technically a flag on the field. The penalty was called from the replay booth.

Can you imagine what Dabo's reaction would have been if one of our players would have acted like that after seeing a targeting call that was as clear as that one was on replay. I believe that Dabo would have thrown him out of the game himself if one of ours would have celebrated like that over a illegal hit that way!!!

All of his team members and one coach was high fiving him as he started walking to the locker rink before the targeting was announced. He knew what he did

Several players and 1 coach/staff member were seen helping him celebrate before the call was made and he left the field . If Fisher has any class ...ANY class at all he will suspend and punish all of those who displayed such willful ignorance and lack of competitive sportsmanship. What a classless bunch the Criminoles always seem to be .

I don't think that suspending any coaches would be in the best interest for the team or Jim Bo, but he could have fined the shiot out of them and say, that wasn't as funny as the targeting that could have seriously hurt our player. IMPO, I don't think that Jim Bo is a bad or evil person, he just wants to win like all of us/them do. Plus he has always been very complimentary to Dabo and Clemson FB in a way that sounds like he serious about what he says. Winning has become so much about just winning, that Jim Bo would be on a very hot seat at most places with their 2017 record. It wouldn't have mattered about losing their starting QB first game of the season, just find a way to win with most schools!!!

Since the NCAA couldn't properly enforce rules at a goat race, don't expect anything of significance to come of this latest disgrace. The only thing that will finally quell this idiocy from grown men who know better but refuse to do better is a paradigm shift in penalizing this behavior. These are not "kids making mistakes". These are grown men acting like idiots.
It SHOULD start in the NFL and come down to the NCAA et al but since that dumpster fire is blazing don't expect Goodell or any of the owners to take action. So, it NEEDS to come from the college ranks and coaches like Dabo Swinney and float up. Here goes:
If you pull a targeting stunt like Rice did tonight:
1. The player is ejected immediately and is suspended for the remainder of the season. 2. The penalty is 25 yards or the 2 yard line. 3. The team loses a time out.
The threat of draconian penalization is the ONLY thing that will ultimately correct this dangerous and irresponsible behavior. Its implementation cannot come soon enough.

Right, except in # 1 make it 2 games following the game of the violation. That way it has more of a chance to fly.

So disappointed in the officiating in the game. Calls were lopsided. Need post game reviews by someone to ensure better calls. Absurd imbalance. We won, but shame on the strippers.

When you look at that play several times, you can see that Carter never expected Rice to hit him the way he did bc they weren't going to be involved in the play. Emmett's reactions right after the hit proves that his intentions were to hurt and take Carter out of the game. I've never before wished injury to any player on any team bc I love the game and I never want to see anyone injured. There has been many times that I have got steaming mad from hearing others hoping injury to players, and to me that is childish very bad sportsmanship. But after seeing the pleasure that Emmett Rice got from knocking Carter the way he did, and enjoying the way he did, now I feel myself hoping that someone will take his entire FB career away from him with a career ending injury. Taking people like Emmett Rice out of FB will most likely save someone their career bc he try's to end others FB career. Yes I hope someone takes his FB career before he does it to someone!!!

It will not stop until schools and coaches are held publicly accountable. This behavior could literally kill someone. Not funny and it needs more press. There is no place for this in college football. I know Dabo and Jimbo are friends but if my friend didn’t publicly address and handle something like this we wouldn’t be friends anymore. If Jimbo cared about the health of his and other players he would publicly address this and suspend Rice for additional games.

Jackazz routine talking about how poor it was and how it was a reflection of their leadership. Between the terrible season they are having and recruits' parents seeing the difference in coaching character, this will help us continue to distance ourselves from FSU. With NCSU's seniors graduating, and Lamar Jackson going pro, the Atlantic looks to be ours for the taking for the immediate future.
#2) No one in Orange is going to take a hit on this lowlife. That is not our game, and we wouldn't want it to be.
