Had a feeling, something was up, after that Gatorade bath.
There are several upcoming OL recruits that already have a good relationship with Coach Caldwell, glad he will continue as part of the team.

Criticism, in his time here. Thankful for his coaching service, and wish him the best.

You know a lot of the criticism might have been undeserved

I don’t think it was Robbie’s decision to run block from a 2 point stance at the goal line. No OL coach would wish that on his players.
I do think it’s his job to start a brawl with the OC for making his job impossible. We’re never going to have 5 NFL linemen that can manhandle 340lb guys from a racehorse stance.
I liked the way we blocked the sprint draw. That’s how you passively open holes. We need to fire out of a 3 point stance and run the ball more. It just works better than our RPO at this time.

I don't know how much criticism was deserved and how much not but I appreciate his time here. I am glad to be starting a new Era and despite what some might say the cupboard is not being left bare. We have some very good young linemen and I look forward to what Austin can do with them.

I think we ran the RPO, because our OL couldn't be counted on to open a specific hole at a specific point in the line. Great OL's do that. I'm hoping we get that!

Now, do I think Robbie Caldwell is a great man? I absolutely do think he is a "Prince Of A Man", but I think our OL was our weak link for so many seasons.

Hammer meets Nail. Perfect call 232press®.
Now we get to hear the ignorant crowd pipe up about how they KNOW that R.Caldwell was the problem with our O-Line in particular and the recruiting misses in general ... with their vast knowledge of the Clemson program and insightful genious about the sentiments of HS recruits.
For my New Years resolution, I'll try to take the ignorant crowd's posts as amusing entertainment (like watching the 3 Stooges or Family Guy) instead of as evidence of the decline of the American educational system.
Thanks Robbie Caldwell and Go Tigers!

Danny Ford was noted for great OL's who could whip the guys in front of them. I like Coach Caldwell, and I wish him a great retirement, and I appreciate his time at Clemson, but I hope we get an OL coach who turns out an OL like the ones DF had. Especially, with the talent we have now at RB and WR (and really all over the field). I'm pulling for DJ, too, and I think the new competition will be great for us, too, and a great QB is so key, but the OL is such a key to a "Complete Team" than most know. Here's to hoping we get it all right.

Reality check.

Pretty sure that the CU fans, social media, the consistent foul line play, the historical poor OL recruiting - and watching Bockhorst being put on his @** every week was "announcement" enough for me.
This wasn't some graceful exit to a storied career. Dudes suspect-coaching started to smell like last weeks garbage years ago.

Ha ha ... thanks for the comedy relief wesdg007.
Social media as the reference point for evaluating assistant coaches? You're a creative guy to come up with such an idiotic comment ... all for the amusement of TNet readers.
Thanks for the using yourself as a target of a self-directed joke ... in the style of Barney Fife.
Classic!

While I'm ready for a change, you are very harsh. I just hope we build on a pretty good foundation and continue improving our OL play. Do that, and we will be just fine, IMO.

I like Coach Caldwell, but I think it is time for him to retire. I want our OL to be a perennial strength and a featured part of our team, rather than one that sometimes ( even often-times) seems to be the weak link. If we get that fixed, then, look out! Clemson will be in a league of its own. JMO, but one shared by others on this board.

Still on the payroll.
Now this position group, the weakest on the team for many years, needs serious improvement in 2022. Four new starters are needed. But it is more likely most of these overmatched starters will have to continue their development.
