After getting out of Dabo's Love Shack, then dismissed from the team, then the gun and reefer, I figured he was on the highway to hell! The likely Power 5 landing spots for his obvious talent were USC and UGA; where he could continue criminal mischief and getting some more different baby mamas.
He has to reform himself, and if he could not do it with Dabo at Clemson, UGA could be his last stop before the pen. Could easily end up like another former Clemson student Skip Wise, both were extremely talented. I doubt seriously we will see him September 4th, unless he is returning punts or something. We should all wish him good luck in life.

Why are most tiger fans worried about this guy. He is a great player, but Tony Elliott will us his familiarity to show strawberry and serve vanilla! Being familiar only helps for prep. Once you get in a game and what was left becomes right it will be a problem for sure.... For UGA! Anyway athens and a troubled player may not even be eligible by September

Once guns & the police are involved and you've been kicked off the team...you get what you deserve and you've lost your "TigerCard" IMO.

Georgia’s biggest weakness was going to be their secondary, given who all they lost.
Then they bring in the best CB and safety prospects out of the transfer portal.
Our defense has to play out of their minds. Because points are going to be hard to come by in this game.

If he plays like he did against OSU then we just need to make him tackle. He ran from contact in that game.

I'm not that concerned, because I think we still have plenty of talent and depth. Somebody who is worried might want to send some weed to Athens. That should take out many bothersome issues that Kirby will have to juggle.

Why was this entirely predictable?
Gun charges? 'Tude? Repeated suspensions? Sounds like a Georgia guy already! Especially because the Dawgs are playing us Game 1, and he knows our D, will be bringing our playbook and signals with him, baby!
Grr. Gotta love modern college football.

I hope (and believe) they are stupid enough to believe BV will not have necessary adjustments in our signals, alignments, strategy, etc., perfected by then. I think Kirby is of that mental midget mold, and I just hope his assistants are as well. Hopefully, he has supplied his staff with that type guys.

Smart isn't as dumb as we thought he was, he is willing to buy players with their opponents play book in hand, and that is just what this is!!!! Kid was pisssed bc things didn't go his way, and he is willing to sell out his brothers to try and get back at Dabo. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger just doesn't apply to all that strays away from Clemson!!! This is no different than what Feaster done, and IMO, he will never be a Tiger in my eyes, neither will Kendrick!!!

DK missed a bunch of games last year but still made 1st team All-ACC for a legitimate reason.
He's got elite-level talent & athleticism. I hate we couldn't help him find more discipline here at Clemson but fingers crossed this last mistake was a wake-up call & he makes better choices at UGA.
Make no mistake, though, this is a big get for UGA & will make the toughest defense on the schedule even more competitive.

Pretty much everyone looked outclassed against OSU last year, that was a clunker.
DK also got burned on a couple perfect throws against elite receivers in that game. I still wish we had him, definitely salty that he’s going to UGA.
Plus seeing that Gilbert is transferring there... ugh.
As much as I wish the portal wasn’t the new reality, it is, and ultimately we are going to have to embrace it to compete with the Bama’s, UGA’s, and OSU’s...
Our recruiting is great, we have a strong culture and not taking transfers probably helps us recruit, but to sacrifice bringing in strong talent through the portal it unfortunately makes the recruiting feel a little less impressive...

Kirby is at least smart enough to go out and get a guy from the portal to address an area of weakness. I'm hoping we take a look at safety Tyreke Johnson out of Ohio State who's transfering. It's an area of need.

Sure saw enough of that in spots the last two years. I thought Booth was better last year and Jones has more upside. DK has tools, but it just didnt look natural for him back there, didnt see that instinctual play rather than reacting. If he was smart he would have transferred to play for Deon. Deon would have A) Given him top level DB teaching, and B) been a hype machine for his rehabilitation. Just my .02 cents but what eva.

I’m confident we are well provisioned for that. They likely make adjustments week to week given the ease a software program could break down film. I think the days of projectors and reels are well behind us.

I can honestly say that I was never ever very impressed with DK as a DB. I think he is a gifted athlete and I wish nothing but the best for him outside of our game with UGA. I think he is just between a WR and a DB - doubt he gets to the NFL but who knows, right?

That's part of the equation. Clemson coaches took DK's NFL career opportunity when he was "volunteered" to play DB. He's a WR and hopefully we will light him up. The joke after the game will be Dabo outsmarted Kirby by planting DK out there in the player's pool.

It’s funny how there are so many media types that brutalize Swinney and why? Because he doesn’t allow these kids to act a certain way? Because he demands you be a good citizen? Honestly everyone deserves second chances but look at the issues players who play for Kirby smart and jumbo Fischer and nick Saban have compared to Swinney. Here’s a perfect example. No way would Clemson sign this kid out of the portal even if they were in desperate need. But sadly some teams put winning before all else and that’s why college athletics has issues. We allow these young men to do whatever they want and basically get away with it. As long as they can play. He will hurt UGA more than help. I only hope that the young man looks at himself and changes his ways and becomes the young man Clemson though and wanted him to be.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I’m ok he’s gone. I don’t recall the game, but watched him come off the field in BV’s face and vice versa. I have a feeling he was poisoning the well in the locker room along with his off the field antics. Bake in a bad attitude and he blew it. I hope our receivers wear him like a hat if he even gets the opportunity.

When I saw the disciplinary issues, I hoped it was because he was a fiery competitor. I hoped his switch to dB would lead to a Desmond Howard type career. Turns out DK is just another Pac-Man Jones type. He should have been kicked to the curb like Chad Kelly was at the first sign of issues. Enjoy your ride to the bottom DK!

Here's how this will go down ...
May 30, 2021, 4:12 PM
|
|
DK will give Kirby Smart and UGA DC hours and hours of intel on the Clemson Offense, signals and play calls which will affect the game.
Kirby will send Kendrick down the road quickly after Clemson game. I said in an earlier post this is an NFL move. We know Dabo would not be picking up UGA or any players with drug and gun arrests, and it makes a big statement about the class of the respective coaches and football programs, and just how desperate Kirby Smart has become.

I’m sure DK is being compensated well for his intel. I think he will stay on the team but they mainly got him for info.
I also think he threw the OSU game for some financial gain.
And yes he will ball out during the Clemson game. He has an axe to grind, and he has played against our receivers for 2 years in practice. He has the talent to be good when he chooses.
Just another hurdle to have to go over for the opener against a team that we are better than but don’t need the added obstacle.

Everyone keeps saying this, but honestly, what can a former player tell a new team about his old team that wouldn't be obvious from film? BV has been coaching for a long time now, his schemes, and types of plays he calls isn't exactly a secret. Teams change up signals several times during a season because they know other teams can easily pick up on those types of things otherwise.
If it were as easy to give up a bunch of key information by picking up a former player then you'd see coaches completely change everything they do each time they lose an assistant coach.

I think you're kinda spot-on here.
We saw it from Notre Dame last year, for example; they schemed deliberately and extremely specifically for BV in the most-watched ACC game of all time... and they won the game. Mixed reads, on-field huddles, fast breaks, they all played a part in the victory.
Frankly I'm not sure why they didn't do more of that the second time around (really they kinda did none of it that time), but now we're talking defense vs. offense. Bottom line, you gotta be really good AND make some deliberate changes just to stand a chance against a BV-led team, particularly one with as much talent as Clemson has this year. Fundamentals are often extremely determinant in week one.
