Our players were out of position & avoiding contact all season- especially today though. Absolutely NO ADJUSTMENTS to adapt to the opposition’s game plan.

South Carolina's final rushing total against Clemson was 267 yards at 6.4 yards per carry. Excluding sacks, it 276 rushing yards at 7.1 a carry. QB LaNorris Sellers was the standout there w/ 16 carries for 166 yards and 2 TDs (and that total includes some sack yardage)

Because we only scored 14 points? Clemson would win every game when they hold the other team to less than 20 points.
This is all on the offense. Riley sucked. Cade sucked. Dabo sucked.

It’s on Wes and it’s on the “Clemson Offense”. Both sides playcalling was horrendous. Should have won by 2TDs with aggressive playcalling and playing to win!

It's definitely not. A few posters have made it their personality on here to bash Wes and blame the defense no matter what
Sensible people who watched that game if they are being honest would say the defense did what they needed to do to put the offense in a position to take over the game and they failed to do so

S.Carolina had the closest thing to a monolithic offense all season … except for Citadel.
I don’t care if Sellers is The Terminator, if the DC hasn’t figured out by now to emphasize tackling prowess, and thus even in a 4 - 3 alignment for much of the plays when Sellers ran better than Cam Newton, then this is too big of a deficiency to keep condoning.
We’ve tackled terribly for two consecutive years now.
That can’t be allowed to be unaddressed.

Total coaching fail.
Our defense has gotten worse year over year under Wes. So, this game really shouldn’t matter. Riley is running Dabo’s offense….so make that what you will. A hurt mafah that thinks he is ETN instead of a powerback….. CJ’s fault? Dabo’s hire. Special teams gaffs and no punter…… Dabo?
Plenty of fails to go around.

Look at Clemson's defensive ranking against the rush. We've known it was a weakness all season. Go look at it following the bye week, still terrible. Look at it against the Citadel, worse than most of their FCS opponents. So they were on notice this was a huge weakness. Look at it today. Weaknesses need to be addressed. Ours was not.
And we're not good across the board in defense. We've played terrible offenses this year. South Carolina is NOT a good offense. Yet we're ranked outside the top 50 in pretty much every defensive stat. That is inexcusable with our level of talent.
And then, after statistics show you why you're dumb, go look at our defense every year since 2020. Every year since Venables left, it's been worse than the year before.

It’s not ALL on him but a lot of it is. When even Citadel runs over your D, there’s a big problem. They should have sold out to stop Sellers run. Make someone else beat you or him beat you with his arm but he never adjusted to do that.

The offense has its own problems. Maybe the reason Dabo forces Riley to be conservative with a lead is because if he doesn’t, he calls double reverses on the 30 yard line after marching down the field with little resistance.
To me Goodwin deserved to get fired after 270 rushing yards to Citadel, this was just the cherry on top. Great, he’s a tactical genius…but can he teach people to tackle and develop a tough, aggressive mentality across the whole defense? Not just one or two guys?

It’s not on Goodwin.
No team should beat Clemson with only 17 points. This is on the impotence of the offense. Riley choked when it mattered at TCU and he consistently does it at Clemson.

Easy answer. It's not. It's on Dabo and his conservative up the middle run game approach that only works against average ACC teams. We were throwing all over them and then he sticks with Mafa 2 yard runs up he middle. We should have been ahead by 14+ at the end. Just mind blowing to watch.

Definitely not all on him, but he is definitely a strong contributor. Him and Riley are both not the answer so both should go, but we won’t fire both at once. Goodwin also can’t recruit which is why we’ve lost so many defensive recruits this season

It’s not. It’s on Dabo. 100%. Stop non sense. His dumb nil stance has put them in a whole. And now he pivots with rev sharing? Give me a break. Ego is in the way.
