Most of these players never made it to the NFL. Some of them still have a chance. But realistically, how many will actually make an NFL roster? Maybe just DJ?

LOL well then you're clearly missing the point that it's not about the coaches or development...these kids were going to leave regardless. They weren't good enough to start while they were at Clemson and didn't have the wherewithal to stick it out and "develop". It is what it is, some kids think the grass is greener, some maybe know they're not going to the pros so they just want to play as much as they can in college. Bottom line, they left because they weren't good enough to start, and likely even saw younger players behind them that they still would not be able to beat out.

We just had a YOUNG and inexperienced team (primarily O) basically beat FSU up and down the field - you know, the poster child for "the portal". Also a team loaded with upperclassmen - ie this had to be their year bc they gonna suffer next year - and we beat ourselves.
We're fine, apparently everyone thinks the portal will solve our problems when a) we can't compete for the players in the portal that are "as good" as the ones we've recruited, because just don't have the NIL $$s, and that is what the top players in the portal are looking for; so simply put, we wouldn't get "better players" than we've recruited using the portal. Fact.

YOUNG team made just enough mistakes to lose to a good FSU team. Problem is, if the attrition to portal continues and we only replace with high schoolers, we will always be YOUNG. It's common sense. We're playing with self induced restrictions.

We did play probably our best game against FSU and came up a little short.
But FSU isn’t close to being the best team in the country, so are we really “fine”?

These players didn't want to transfer because of the 1 year sit out. He's right, a large percentage would have stayed with the promise of some playing time. Now they jumped ship to play immediately.
And maybe DJ gets drafted in a very late round. I think he goes undrafted and signs on to a team eventually.

Chez is/ was doing pretty well at Wisconsin but broke his leg and will miss the rest of the year but he was averaging like 6 yards a carry and on pace to scare 1000 yards on the season … and I’m not sure about stats but Bentley starts for the fighting deions but yes not a ton making huge impacts

Only because OSU has a great OL and running game. DJU just hands off and then chunks a ball downfield off of play action. Basically, no real quick decisions have to be made. You know, a way more complicated offense. LMAO...

The vast majority of these occurred in 21 and 22 so it’s hard to make a determination on draft worthiness just yet.

I dont plan on counting but how many over how many years? Would love an average lost per year vs. other teams. Pretty sure they cut guys where we do not. I am good with that.

Several of these guys were grad transfers yea? I'd wager this number in this time span is very low compared to most p5 schools. Also how many of these guys left and were immediately replaced with a guy Clemson wanted but had no room for until a slot opened?

To those saying all of these portal departures would not have helped have missed the entire point. Mathmatically, MATHMATICALLY, you can't have players ONLY use the portal to LEAVE and never have new players coming IN via the portal. It's a war of attrition that causes us to shave off talent a little each year because he year we replace upper classman with freshmen. Rinse and repeat a couple of years and we have shaved off lots of talent. It's the MATHS!

admit that. I think in Dabo's approach he believed the culture he has/is creating would cause the kids to stick it out versus transferring. So far that hasn't really been the case.

Losing potential future stars is the unforeseen consequences of habitual use of the portal. That is the specific reason I support Dabo's reluctance to recruit regularly from the portal.
