Judge has a point when he says other sports are largely ignored on Tigernet as far as actual articles written about them. I am not saying it doesn't make sense this week because of rivalry week and the CFP picture, but you can read all about how many times the football team picked its nose in February if you wanted to. Meanwhile baseball and basketball will be largely ignored. How many articles are we doing for the Soccer team that is making another deep run? I have seen exactly zero this week. Outside of talk generated by members Tigernet is a football site, and I feel like other sports should get more coverage especially in the Spring when football is doing nothing but practice. Otherwise it isn't Tigernet it is CUFootballnet and if that's the case just change the name and stop pretending.

Tbh I kinda agree with you, they do have basketball and baseball stories during their season but not until clemson football is over will they get more talk. Basketball is just starting so I get it but I def agree we should see some more about our soccer team makin another run in NCAA Tourney. TCI actually imo covers a little more stuff than tigernet as far as articles go. Go Tigers!!!

Much ado about nothing. They do care about all sports but not all sports are cared for the same way by all their readers, so the more popular topics will get most of the press. Since it isn't set up to be exclusive to football, they call it what it is.

Football is the king of college sports. So, the amount of bandwidth and traffic dedicated to football on the website should reflect that.
To imply that TNet's coverage of basketball is somehow "inadequate" is just flat out wrong. The fanbase has grown apathetic after years and years of mediocre---and downright bad---basketball. That's a fact, whether JK likes it or not. Interest in the program will increase as the results on the court get better. That's also a fact.

there is a reason the revenue sharing will follow a roughly 75/15/5/5 model. Football is king by a large margin money wise. Therefore fan interest is going to follow a similar pattern

Well I guess they cover what the people want to see and what the University says is important.
Did you see the article about the NIL split... 75% to Football and 15% to Basketball and everyone else gets the left overs. Thus 75% of articles relate to Foot Ball!
But hey I love Basketball and Baseball.

Why do you think football is the highest revenue sport? It’s just a popularity thing. People will naturally transition their attention to basketball in due time…there are more than twice as many games and success doesn’t hinge as much on every single one.

Because it’s a fact. Football pays all the other sports bills. Read the IPTAY Finacial breakdown. People beg borrow and fight over football season ticket rights while they can’t give away other sports seasons tickets in comparison. Zero women sports make enough to merit a team. It’s just a fact. The basketball program turned its first profit in a decade last year. Just a fact.

pay attention to the 20M rev share distribution this year; it’s gonna be like 75% football 20% basketball and scraps for the rest. That seems to be about the same mix as the coverage on Tnet.
So using your logic we should probably change the official Clemson website’s name from Clemsontigers.com to Clemsonfootball.com since clearly the university doesn’t care about any other sports.

No, because the Clemson Athletics site does cover other sports. There have been 6 baseball specific articles in the last 30 days which is a lot for a month during the off season. That site does represent other sports so the current name fits, but you already knew that.

2 articles are about all sports (graduation rate, HOF) and were covered on Tnet as well. Tnet had 2 of the same baseball specific articles, so you think Tnet needs 2 more offseason articles in order to meet the minimum standard to call themselves a Clemson SPORTS site? I’m sure Crump will get right on that.
BTW all of the baseball specific articles were written by Tim Bouret or Brian Hennessy who are athletic department employees and are actually often members of the baseball broadcast crew. There’s no way a privately run website will be able to match those resources.

Conversely don't say you cover Clemson sports when you primarily only cover football. That's like going to a restaurant that sells burgers and pizza, but doesn't make pizza because it's too expensive. If you can only afford burgers then just make burgers.

Maybe you should read it yourself. You said "IF" it is all about football then they should just change the name. The reality is it isn't just all about football as there are plenty of non-football related articles on here.
If it really was 100% football then I'm totally with you, but if it is 75% football then it is not a total football site.

The publishers of this website know which articles generate the most views and traffic. If it was women’s cross country then you’d see a new article about it every day.
Also maybe if some of the threads started on the football board about other sports were actually started on that sport’s sub-forum; then maybe it would highlight an interest for more coverage of said sport. Just a thought.

To better argue your point, you should filter for reports specifically made by tigernet staff and not re-posts from other sports sites. Granted the number of football posts from tigernet at this time of the year will still be more than other sports given that it is the major sport playing during the championship season of football, I don’t believe the skewed number you are referring to is as grand particularly when it is not football season.
I would imagine that if the other sports sites like ESPN, CBS, Fox, etc. had articles about other Clemson sports other than Clemson football or talk shows talked about the non-football Clemson sports, you would see more articles on tigernet reporting those outside viewpoints.

I can see ignoring baseball as it is an old man sport given it takes four hours sitting in one spot to see a game. Basketball is an exciting two hours plus we have a really good team so there should be more coverage.
