Nothing wrong with acknowledging Coach Lee learned many good things while under Tanner. I would add to that that he most probably learned a great deal more becoming a head coach at COC. Regardless of where he learned we are certainly lucky to have him

Too early to compare. Just let him inherit Tanner's horseshoe. Never saw a team get as many breaks as those Tanner teams in those 2 or 3 glory years. Need a miracle throw? need a missed strike call? need 7 double plays in a game? need virginia's ace to get a flu bug? whatever---we got it...

For real I remember a CWS game vs UCLA. UCLA loaded the bases with no out like 3 or 4 times in the game and didn't score 1 run in those innings. The Coots won the game like 4-2 or something.

The funny thing is before Holbrook joined be staff and we won two national championships Ray Tanner was known for being unable to manage a pitching staff, relying on gorilla ball and choking in big moments.
Our best team ever choked to Louisiana-Lafayette in a super. We were 0-4 in super regionals outside of Columbia.
Ray Tanner was a great coach but something changed after Holbrook joined the staff. We actually started using he bullpen efficient. We actually bunted and created runs instead of relying on mashing the baseball. All of that led to two national championships.

With everything people can look for to answer their self questions, there is no better place to look for answers other than the facts. There are 16 teams hosting tournament play, and those 16 teams are the teams that were voted to have the strongest record over the whole season. Looking at the 16 hosting teams, let's start at the top of the list and move down looking at their last 20, last 10 games W-L records. Leaving Clemson to last...
#1. LSU (42-18) last 20 games they were 15-5, last 10 (8-2 #2. Virginia (37-20) last 20 games they were 15-5, last 10 (7-3
#4. Texas A&M (45-14) last 20 games they were 14-6, last 10 (6-4 #5. South Carolina (42-15) last 20 games they were 13-7, last 10 (6-4 #6. Miami (FL) (45-11) last 20 games they were 16-4, last 10 (8-2 #7. TCU (42-15) last 20 they were 15-5, last 10 (9-1 #8. Florida (47-13) last 20 they were 13-7, last 10 (5-5 #9. UL Lafayette (41-19) don't matter!!! #10. Louisville (47-12) last 20 games they were 17-3, last 10 (8-2 #11. Texas Tech (41-16) last 20 games they were 13-7, last 10 (7-3 #12. Vanderbilt (43-17) last 20 games they were 13-7, last 10 (7-3 #13. Ole Miss (43-17) last 20 games they were 13-7, last 10 (6-4 #14. NCST (35-20) last 20 games they were 9-11, last 10 (3-7 #15. Mississippi State (41-16) last 20 games they were 16-4, last 10 (8-2 #16. Florida State (37-20) last 20 games they were 11-9, last 10 (5-5
#3. CLEMSON TIGERS (42-18) last 20 games we were 16-4, last 10 (9-1
Only Louisville won 17 of last 20 games, and only Clemson, Miami, and Mississippi State won 16 of last 20 games.
Only Clemson and TCU won 9 of the last 10 games. But Clemson is one of the least talked about teams heading into the NCAA tournament. Nothing gets Fired Up like a Clemson FB team going into postseason being disrespected. Now it's time for Monte Lee to light a fire in our Baseball team and show that same Fire in their Hearts, Gooo Tiger baseball, it's time to scorch some A$SES on the diamond!!!

I really don't care who he is compared to, so long as he does well here. If he learned from another coach, who happens to be our arch enemy, so what....so long as he wins here(and wins the Tiger way). Ray Tanner, or whoever it was that won 2 national championships, guess what...if he learned things that will bring championships home to Clemson(and beat USuC), I'm ok with it.
