Any mention of wide receiver coaching brings up Jeff Scott. I don't expect Scott back in the program, in any capacity, any time soon. It's not a secret he's in real estate and homebuilding, and he's happy being a dad and making money while being home at night.
At some point, could the itch bring him back to coaching? Sure. But I don't see it happening soon.

Any truth in him assisting with the new NIL collective?

Yes, there was some rumor (wishful thinking?) that he might play a role in the new NIL collective?

Wide receivers. That seems to have fallen off. But I also definitely respect his role as dad and husband.

We have two high 4* guys in the next class in case you had not noticed. Our WR recruiting did take a hit during covid and the initial NIL rollout but we also had sever highly ranked WRs who did not live up to their billing or injuried. Happens sometimes regardless of the position coach

I have seen those rumors about Jeff and the 110 Society, but nothing has happened on that front.

Go get Hartline while we are in the process of upgrading coaches and writing new contracts. He's the difference maker we need. Take advantage of what appears to be a period of dissent in the program.

Hartline isn't leaving an OC job at his alma mater to be a WR coach somewhere else. He currently makes $1.6 million/year at Ohio State. If Ryan Day gets fired or leaves or whatever, Hartline would be a top candidate to replace him.

I tried telling SEVERAL here Jeff was not ON staff in any regard, but they continue to blabber about the fact he is. Maybe they will shut up now that David has posted this.

Thanks DHood....
I understand and completely respect that.... but like Matt Luke, that desire he has deep inside may start talking to him in a year or two. Like Tristan Ludlow in Legends of the Fall. The bear (or Tiger in this case) inside of him might start roaring in a year or two to come back....
I do hope Grisham turns around the WR group and stays for a long time. Based on J Scott's past performance as a holder when he was a player and as a coach and recruiter... seems like it was meant to be.
I think of his dad..... won natties at FSU, got the big head coaching job that just didn't work out, then found his calling and happy place in the foothills at Clemson realizing that being a head coach isn't all its cracked up to be sometimes. I see Jeff's career played out very similar.
Regardless... Dabo knows what he has to do and will do it.

Jeff has made over $11 million over the last 10 years (not counting his buyout, which was never fully disclosed). He's smart enough to be set for life financially, got young kids, hot wife..... Not a bad gig.
