Are the Seminoles next?

With the landscape changing in all sports regarding team names and logos, are the Seminoles next for a name chnage?
The Redskins changed, the Cleveland Indians changed, who is next? I am not saying it was right or wrong for these teams to change. I just feel the pressure will become more and more for name changes in sports. I know it was discussed before regarding the Seminole name but there was not a lot of pressure at the time to make the change. If I recall, the Cheif of the Seminole nation even weighed in on it at one point. I get it, I understand both arguments for and against a name change' however, I don't think the Seminole name is meant to disgrace the Seminole Nation at all. Just like I don't believe the Braves name is meant to be racisit or incesitive.
However, if I was to guess I think these schools/teams may be targeted next for name changes from various groups.
Florida State Seminoles
Atlanta Braves
South Carolina Gamecocks (not a joke but PETA are some crazy folks at times)
Who else?

I'm "liberal white people" and I have absolutely zero problem with FSU retaining the Seminole name and mascot as long as the Seminole people support it.
Ironic that you're arguing "it's not a stereotype" by employing another stereotype, though. I figured you to be sharper than that.

When done properly like FSU and Central Michigan do (CMU has the same relationship with the Chippewa/Ojibwe tribe), there's no issues to be had.

I'm a ****** communist and I don't care about this. The only thing that bugs me is people wearing war bonnets--which have a nearly sacred significance, to the point where they are typically made by a tribe for someone who has near-paragon status, and blond-haired blue-eyed kids riding out in Indian garb to do Indian stuff. On the other hand, I always liked Wahoo McDaniel, and now that I think of it, i think part of his shtick was that he was part Cherokee, though without Wiki-ing it, I can't remember if that was true or not.

Especially a chicken called the Fighting Gamecocks. Coots make them seem to be a chicken that can't fight, and the only reason their spurs are up, is bc they are dead on their back!!!

While you are correct that the Cleveland Indians made a change, all the Washington team did was drop the name. Imo, calling them the Washington Football team just tell me they are a bunch of p----es

I suspect most FSU fans don't know the history of the real Chief Osceola. After leading the Seminole resistance against the federal government, he was duped and captured during peace talks, and imprisoned at Fort Moultrie where he died shortly thereafter and was laid to rest there.

I think FSU and Clemson should just start their own conference, and if ACC teams, or any other for that matter, want to join, there will be a lengthy interview process.
Where do you see your program in 5 years?
What are your expected goals within this league?

1) The Seminole Tribe of Florida fervently supports FSU's use of the name and associated imagery.
1a) The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma--a much larger entity than the Florida Tribe--have a much less friendly stance on this issue. However, FSU's done a good job of burying that information and considering the issue closed. The Oklahoma Nation chief they mention in their official literature, Jerry Haney, hasn't been chief since 2001 (or 2003, depending on who you ask).
2) I don't follow the Braves enough to care one way or the other, but they do still face occasional political pressure to change.
3) If their fanbase is comfortable calling themselves chickens and having lewd associations with their nickname, I might be embarrassed for them but I ain't gonna stop them.

No, they have a great relationship with the Seminole tribe and they actually honor the native Americans and their culture. The Redskins were using a racial slur, the Indians had an embarrassing cartoon caricature, insulting tribes (and the tribes actually didn't care in either case, they deal with a lack of computers, internet, clean/running water and alcoholism in their communities, team names is the last thing they are worried about--it's liberal white people on the mission to cancel them). All that said, again, no, the school and Seminole tribe work together to honor their heritage not exploit and make fun of it.

In Kansas City (in middle America) they just got rid of the HORSE. Apparently, before Chiefs games, a nice looking cheerleader type with a white had would ride onto the field on a horse with feathers. She was not dressed in any type of Native American garb. The Chiefs cancelled the horse.
