When we knocked Matt Dayes out of the game in 2015, Dabo

never mentioned it as an "accomplishment" ... kind of surprised to see a coach quoted as saying something like that about injuring a player. At least not for public consumption.

So when considering of the positive things his team did during the game, this dude comes up with knocking the opposing running back out of the game (on a clear targeting foul that was missed by the refs)? Nice.

Wayne just stated the hockey "fight" mentality of covering for each other. Glad he did. Moreso, it explains why there's fighting in hockey (it's a form of self-policing, according to the guy with Mickey Plyer the other morning), and also baseball paybacks on brushback pitches. Just surprised the liberals aren't up in arms about Wayne's comment about getting retribution.
But it does point out the mysterious thing of self-policing that is NOT allowed in football, yet IS allowed in hockey, at least at the college level and higher.

on the roster whose sole purpose was to lay out the opposing player who had taken a cheap shot at his star player.
Or from a darker perspective, to actually take the cheap shot at the other team's star, or provoke a big fight so both guys got thrown out.
But, that's from a long time ago.

He knocked our player out of the game and the Tigers knocked him out of the division race. A good trade off, though I certainly hope Wayne Train is okay. Surprising Doeren would mention this one play, when his team's overall effort was very good. Pretty shabby.

Then he shouldn't have said "We knocked their tailback out of the game." That's different than "their tailback had to leave the game." When you say you knocked him out, it sounds intentional.

My question was, why did the broadcasters not even acknowledge the hit
Oct 24, 2016, 7:05 PM
|
|
as being dirty? That hit was CLEARLY with the crown of the helmet aimed straight at the head of Gallman. Not one the broadcasters said a word or considered the possibility that the hit was illegal.
Remember when Stephon Anthony was called for targeting? He got tossed qnd suspended the first half of the next game. If Anthony's hit got him tossed and out for another half, then this one should have warranted him being drawn and quartered.
I hope that the ACC takes a look. Anyone know if our staff or AD, filed a formal complaint?

Wayne said they sent the film to the ACC office for review, but they responded that it was clean. With all the targeting calls being made it perplexes me why this blatant call was missed and upon reveiwing still can't get it right.

I know the staff submitted the tape for review, but i think that only helps to over turn a targeting call on the field. Not enforce one that wasn't made(could be way wrong but that's the way i understand targeting rules v9.78999 or what ever) that being said. Here is my advice to dip *blank*and his team, next year strap those pads tight, tuck those jerseys in, button every strap on those helmets, pray like hell, and put polydent in your mouth pieces you're going to need it.
