Shark fishing in Beaufort

Not sure what board to put this in but my friend has invited me down today to go to Beaufort to fish for sharks. I fished for sharks a couple years ago at tybee island but it’s been a while. It’s some private beach and I do not have my fishing license yet since I’m not that big into outdoors stuff and usually just buy a day pass since I’m too busy to fish all the time. Well that and I have my lifetime in nc where I fish and hunt. Do I need the day pass deep sea fishing pass and/or any tags?
