Yeah it was about money but…. It wasn’t because they outbid the competition. They were willing to pay him more than the competition thought he was worth.

This is where the free agency aspect comes into play. His other finalist was like okay y’all go ahead and overpay. You see it in pro ball all the time.

Nebraska missed on some CB targets so they were willing to overpay. There was competition that had more money but didn’t think it was worth it.

For example if Samari Matthews goes to Texas like I think he will it’s because they have more available funds than Clemson or Scar.

I'm still holding out hope on Matthews. Should he enroll early, I think he would get plenty of snaps. We'll know more about mid season on Hampton, Gipson , and strozier progress but imo we'll need a freshman ready and probably a portal rental for experience. I don't think Lewis will stay and Terrell definitely goes.

Clemson and Matthews mutually agreed to end the recruitment a month or so ago. That ship has sailed. I don’t like Beamer but I think even he is conceding.

Correct. We didn’t outbid Texas for Quinn. Quinn thought our offer was the best situation for him.

There was a recent article about how much Missouri spent on free agency. Crazy amount. I want to say 31 million dollars.

Dabo’s unwillingness to participate in glorified auctions is why we have such a high retention rate.
