I know this has been discussed previously on this board, but it is astonishing how much our Tigers lack big-time, game-altering plays. Whether it’s defense or offense, we simply have lacked the big plays that you need to win games.
I know that some of these plays come down to pure luck, whether it’s your WR getting lost in coverage that works to our benefit, or us getting a 60-yard scoop and score like the Noles did today.
I just wish we had that extra bit of luck to roll our way once or twice. A few game-altering plays!
I think it was Branch Rickey (he signed Jackie Robinson) who said luck is the residue of design. It wasn't luck that caused a scoop score today. It was poor blocking and an opportunistic defender who sacked Cade and then an opportunistic defender who scooped it and scored. It wasn't luck that caused us to miss a gimmie 30 yard field goal that could have won the game. It was poor execution. Nor was it luck that caused Keon Coleman to catch the winner in OT, nor was it luck that kept us out of the end zone in OT. It was #### poor play calling (whoever called it). We were out played and out coached.
