I dont think the B1G will agree to less bids than the SEC, but I would expect them each to get 5 or 6 bids.

Yep, ruining the sport! Removing all the reasons a high percentage of people loved College Football and adding all the reasons people disliked professional sports. I completely quit watching NFL a year or two before Covid and never looked back. Since gameday sux nowadays, Transfer Portal and NIL has been bastardized, my CFB time investment has reduced by 75% and like will decrease even more this year.

Yea I really hate the expanded playoff for taking away meaning from losses. Every game used to matter and 1 loss could end a season but now you can loose 3 and still be fine. and now with NIL and transfer portals it is becoming a mini NFL.

I LOVE this idea. More football and more playoff games, and we’ll see teams now that you would NEVER a thought to ever be in a national title race. Think of a team like UNC or Pitt in the playoff. Would be fun to watch!

The regular season freaking mattered. You better bring it every weekend or your season could be over. Made every game exciting no matter who was on your schedule. 16 teams? Are you freaking kidding me? Youre going to have some 3 and 4 loss teams in the playoffs. Absolutely STUPID. Its going to render the regular season meaningless. As if portal and NIL hadnt already ruined it. I do find myself getting far more done on fall weekends now.

It's still matters and íts better than ever. You get better as the season goes along and you deal with injuries, you should still be in the hunt. This almost guarantees the best team at the end wins. It's great.

It used to be about crowning a college football champion ..... at least partially. Now it is totally about money, as last year proved that there are not even 12 teams, much less 16, that have a chance of winning the championship. Why not just change the name to "College Football Money Grab Championship"?

atempt to be a low rate nfl..first players get paid with zero cap and endless free agency. now two conferences get the bulk of playoff spots just for existing.. wink wink nod nod to the big/sec owned committee there are 3 at large spots aka the big and sec will get those most years as well just fore existing

When I played high school football decades ago, only one team got into the playoffs. It was the district champ and nobody else. Bi-district games were awesome. Even in the 80s I’d drive to Dallas and watch first round playoff games. Later they added a second playoff team and now they have 4 from each district. Scores are 60 to 70 or 80 to nothing. 3-7 teams are in playoffs and getting curb stomped.
More doesn’t always make better.
Only the best should be in the playoffs and 8 is more than enough. Just my opinion

I understand both sides on this issue.. so its basically adding 4 more teams to a already 12 team playoff... so it looks like its adding one team from each of the four conferences to the lineup.. I would definitely like to get rid of the bye week, I think everyone should play the first round and honestly I believe a home field advantage for top 4 only , for winning the conference championship. But for the other teams make it a neutral site or lower tier bowl games to start the round of 16 , utilize the Gator Bowl , Sun Bowl , and/or Citrus Bowl in a rotating order or fashion similar to way the major bowls are being rotated in use. instead of giving home field avantage for the other games not including the top 4 conferences champions. Then do exactly like it is with elite 8 to final 4 in the major bowl games...
