The man who snared Kevin Durant for the Longhorns tries to lure another big one tonight. Texas basketball coach Rick Barnes will make an appearance on NBC's "Friday Night Lights," playing a college football recruiter. Barnes' character is one of several coaches angling to induce a commitment from Smash Williams, star running back at Dillon High.

Has Barnes offered his football recruiting services to Mack Brown (who's already made a cameo on "Friday Night Lights," by the way)?

"I learned from Mack," Barnes said Thursday. "He's the best in the country. It's a whole lot easier recruiting football guys. You just have to walk into a diner and offer them a scholarship."
