I remember it well.
I had one on my bumper until the 1990s that said "Honk if You Have Never Won a Bowl Game." My Gamecock friends hated it with a passion.

My favorite was "The Night Carolina went Down" with a picture of a Chicken kneeling if front of the Tiger. You can guess which direction the Chicken was facing.

I attended Usuck in post-grad. study in 1979/80 with that proudly displayed everywhere I went in Columbia.

"Give 'em Hell, Pell" when Charlie Pell had led us to two Gator Bowls in 1977 & 1978. 1977 was the first bowl for Clemson in 20 years, and in 1978 we beat Ohio St, Woody slugged Bauman, and we finished 11-1 and #6 in the final polls. And Pell had also endeared himself to CU fans with the "victory cigars" and his no bullchit style. He was a legend in 2 years...
Then he bolted for Florida. And people took scissors to unused stickers and put them on their cars to say:
"Hell, Give 'em Pell"

Jim Phillip's biography has a good account about Pell leaving . It wasn't a very honorable way to go. IPTAY bought him a Jag that they ending up giving to Danny at the team hotel in Jax for the Gator Bowl. I was there and saw it. I often wondered if Danny ever figured out how to hitch up a plow to that thing. Good times.

My late Father and I were in Jacksonville and the bumper sticker I recall said, “To Hell with Pell - Ford has a better Idea”
