Here is a guy who promised 2 Trillion Dollar savings. Got rid of everyone who regulated his companies at the NTSB, FAA etc. "Claims" to have saved 160 Billion but independent fact finders estimate 135 Billion cost. Got no bid Starlink contract for FAA. SMH.

Dems think if they use terms like "fact checked", then no one can challenge it.
I challenge this one.

Remember a few weeks ago the big MAGA news was DOGE found all the dead people getting Social Security Benefits. I don't understand why Elon does not show us even ONE 250 year old who gets Social Security.

The Social Security fraud that Musk supposedly uncovered were crimes that had previously been discovered. The fraudulent payments were intentionally assigned to accounts that couldn't actually exist (e.g. 150 year old people) rather than to the people whose identities were stolen to commit the fraud, so that the folks who were victimized wouldn't have their credit negatively impacted.

So what are YOUR trusted news sources?
Apr 30, 2025, 3:19 PM
|

The last time I asked that to a MAGA on here, the reaction I got was equivalent to what you would expect if you slapped their kids right in front of them.
Y'all are so good to scoffing at news outlets and crying about "fake news!" anytime someone dares criticize your Dear Leader. So what outlets do you rely on for accurate, reliable news information?
And don't you dare say Fox News.
Or do you just blindly accept Trump at his word and his word alone?

I assume you're talking about the 60 Minutes interview?
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/60-minutes-publishes-transcripts-video-requested-by-fcc/
How would you prefer that they address the situation after all the accusations they received?
... and more to the point -- you still didn't give YOUR trusted news sources. You just attacked another one that criticized your Dear Leader. So again, what are your trusted news sources?

Who is saying that Doges actions cost the Gov $135 MM?
Apr 30, 2025, 3:13 PM

|
I had not seen that?
I can see “layoffs with nine months of severance” being a drag on the budget but the alternative is letting people go with nothing. That seems harsh.

Here's some basic math based on the 5 bullet point emails being done
Apr 30, 2025, 3:26 PM
|
|
2.4 million federal employees (which is excluding the military)
Average hourly salary of $35.54 per hour (per Pew research center)
$85,296,000 per hour
Let's just say it takes 5 min to write up the email. Divide hourly salary by 60 and multiply by 5
That ends up being $7.1M per week, to write up a useless email that was dictated by doge for a "pulse check".
We're now roughly 10 weeks into doing this. Now I understand that it technically doesn't cost the govt. anything "extra" since they're paying the wages anyway, but as far as cost per man hour is concerned, we're at $70 million dollars....for a useless email exercise.

For that math to work you'd have to assume that a broad call for accountability

lead to absolutely no productivity improvements. I'm sure that's your assumption, but that isn't necessarily true.
I'm guessing not the analysis they used to come up with their figure, though.

A thousand point DJIA swing on a day the Commerce Department reported the economy shrank. Surely, Wall Street Donors were not tipped off in a private meeting that some trade deal have been made.
