playbook which makes ZERO sense.
Trump is asking for assimilation, which isn’t happening with the current migrant crisis in US or all around Europe.
In my mind, the problem is we are letting these unknowns into the country and then they refuse to assimilate. Which is 100% difference than the Ellis Island that Liberals like to harken back to with America having open arms.
Trump did phrase this wrong and yes there are better ways to say what he was saying. But to compare to Hitler beer hall speeches to what Trump said is lazy at best.

I’m not sure the context of that comment was about immigrants. Man honestly, the bottom line for me is that the Trump campaign premise of rooting out his vermin political enemies and getting retribution for those that wronged him is just so incredibly off putting and unappealing. What is Trump’s plan to tackle federal solvency? How about getting borrowing costs back down to spur the economy without letting inflation go wild again? He has nothing to talk about other than his grievances and gripes.
There are serious questions regarding the governing of a country that require serious answers. The Trump campaign is about him and his enemies and identity politics. It’s long past time to coalesce around either Haley or DeSantis and get someone who can 1) actually beat the democrats and 2) actually bring some possible solutions. You can’t be entrusted to govern when your governing strategy is burning the house down.

I am assuming you asked the same of Biden and his campaign?
Or are you a “I didn’t vote” guy that wants to complain.

No, as a matter of fact I didn’t vote in the last election, and there are a lot of reasons I didn’t vote for Biden, fiscal responsibility probably chief among them. You can call it complaining I guess, if you want this to be an adversarial conversation. I guess I see it more like hoping to have a major party candidate I can actually support who has views and positions I agree with.

Thanks! His comment had ZERO to do with immigrants. Here is his full post on Lie Social:

Trump did NOT phrase this wrong IMO. It was calculated cause he said it twice, once during the rally and then above. You can think it's "lazy", but when I was a Pub up until early 2021, it always bothered me when some would call the other side "evil". Evil is one thing, but vermin is another and yes it does harken back to Hitler and Mussolini as they used that exact word. History teaches us that certain people used this word to dehumanize people making it easier for their followers to engage in violence. It just concerns me because of all the talk about civil war we hear from the far right.

I mean I think that’s the obvious corollary to draw, right? Is one better than the other? That comment, probably right alongside the FBI probe announcement, torpedoed her campaign, which was already starting with one of the most unlikable politicians in history.
Is it ok for Trump to say stuff like this because Hillary said something similar?

Whether it’s Obama talking about the right clinging to guns and religion, or Hillary’s deplorables comment, I was pointing out that the dehumanization of one’s opponents is quite sadly the new normal indeed.

we did or should have missed the point.
Deplorable by a Clinton was focused at US Citizens.
Vermin was directed at non-citizens who are not following the rule of law, not assimilating and potentially are terrorists.

I've got no problem with lumping leftist scum that hates this country in with commies and Marxists since that what many of them proudly are. I mean they would eliminate our freedoms and have us living under some bizarre combination of Stalinism and sharia law if they could. What's not to despise?

Is that a substantial portion of people will cheer this attitude on and not realize the implications it has on our free nation.
History shows us this is how dictatorships are born, but they don't care. They want one.

There has only been one Stalin, one Mao, and one Hitler in world history. These individuals stand alone on their own merit for inflicting human suffering, mass murder and other evil deeds like no other. To compare any of these vile people to a US politicians is, quite frankly, hyperbole at its worst.
Trump is one of the biggest egotistical blowhards the wealthy class in the USA has ever produced. He is an extreme narcissist that rambles when he talks and whose self-discipline is that of a spoiled child. I despise the man's character, overblown ego, and lack of self-discipline but that hardly makes him that much different than most of our elitist political class. Trump is just a clumsy bull with his narcissism as opposed to most politicians who are way more nuanced and polite in their narcissism.
Having said that... The constant comparisons of Trump to Hitler, which happened before he was President, while he was President, and now after he was President is an insult to the people who actually lived, suffered and died under the real Hitler's cruelty.
Let people stand on their own merits. It is perfectly acceptable to criticize politicians on what they say and do. But at this point these Hitler comparisons are just ridiculous and have been for a long time. George McGovern compared Richard Nixon to Hitler. Some liberals likened Reagan to Hitler, then Bush was Hitler and of course now Trump is Hitler. Heck even some Republicans called LBJ Hitler because of his Great Society policies. The Nazi and Hitler comparisons in our politics is now nothing more than an overused trite meme that resurfaces every election cycle in some form or another and it is high time to stop it. It diminishes the real evil of Hitler and his Nazi Party.
I understand that people hate Trump's guts with every fiber of their being. I understand that Trump says the most outrageous, stupid shid that is so over the top that it drives people to see him as evil incarnate. But that doesn't make Trump = Hitler no more than Hillary Clinton's comments of "formal deprogramming" for Trump supporters makes her Stalin....
So can we please stop with the stupid comparisons to Hitler who was a truly unique, once in a millennium evil tyrant that deserves to stand on his own in merit in the annals of hell?

Trump doesn't compare to Hitler, IMHO.
He's a whole lot more like Mussolini...who himself was a cartoon-character clod his enemies all made fun of, right up to the moment he took power. Mussolini would have been just another penny-ante dictator but the problem was, combine a Mussolini with a really bad influence like Hitler...and off the world went. No bueno.
And here's the real problem: the world isn't short on aspiring Hitler-type supervillains right now. Putin is one. Xi is another. Iran is run by an insane religious theocracy, and then there's little Kim and his rockets (which is literally all he has.)
That's a lot of bad influences.

I 100 percent agree that Trump shouldn't be compared to those individuals; they were evil, calculated, and intelligent in pursuing a nefarious goal that they sadistically thought was for the greater good.
Trump is an idiot who is in it for himself. He's not plotting something like this.
But the means of how the people you mentioned rose to unchecked power--and all the lesser despots and dictators throughout history--start with what we're seeing here, and THAT cannot be ignored. It starts with an authoritarian with little regard for freedom stirring up a populous base against "enemies of the state" and promising them protection from those enemies if they'll just give him a blank check of power. And that populous is too emotional and stupid to know better.
THAT is how dictators emerge. Those are the first steps. And that's at play here.
And if you really want to get down to brass tax, start grilling his most fervent supporters of what they would like to see happen if he retook office, and you'll see I'm correct here.

While I'm totally opposed to communists and fascists, it is perfectly legal to be either in this country, as it should be. Trump needs to announce what his plans are for these individuals.
Why anyone would want 4 more years or perhaps indefinitely more of such a self absorbed person in charge of this country is beyond me? There are far better choices than Trump and I absolutely do want Biden gone too.
Trump is the antithesis of putting country over self. Everything is about him. It's ridiculous if we end up with another Biden/Trump choice.
