And it's not around now. But the Orange Bowl is. All I know is two teams in this state have bowl trophies. One team ended up ranked 4th and the other below that. Kinda takes the shine off the letters "bcs".

No, Spurrier was incorrect. The discussion was re. BCS bowls, not Orange Bowls. Coach Ford never fielded a Clemson team during the BCS era.

The only thing that could take the shine off the trophy. Would be if it were in an empty trophy case like the one at usuc. The reason your trophy case is empty is b/c you have always sucked. The only thing that has changed is the day, and you have won 5 straight against Clemson. And even with 5 straight, you're still not even close to our win record over you. Now you did get close to the 7 straight we own over you. And don't say it was a long time ago b/c, look how long it took you to just get close to the 7. Also, your fan base will forever be proud of your 5, just as we are with our 7. You're still a loser to us b/c you can't get your over all record even close to us. That will have to be an argument for our great, great, great grand children to have b/c it won't get close enough for us to argue over in this century. We have been the best for over 100 years, and I'm betting it won't be a change at the 200 year mark. I didn't make it that way, Clemson beating usuc made it that way. And you don't have an argument when using the absolute facts. It will be easy to tell if usuc ever tops Clemson. Your whole fan base won't be using a win over Clemson to measure how good you were that year.

if we had beat Tennessee we would have been in the same situation as MIZZOU. win SEC championship game and go to BCS championship, or lose and no BCS. If you look at the last three years it was the same situation, essentially the only BCS game we had a possibility of going to was the national championship.
I'm not complaining about the situation bc i believe the benefits of the SEC outweigh the negatives, just pointing out the facts.

Your team is much improved since you got spurlid as your coach, and he is a very good X's and O's coach. This is nothing new, Frank Howard and the many SC coaches were doing the same thing in the 40's, 50's and 60's.....just not with the same upside as in this all access age. Now the entire nation is aware of our intrastate rivalry, while Dabo and Spurrier are generating priceless publicity and national press coverage for both schools, simply because of the imaginary "feud".

The only way the guy shuts up is if Clemson beats him, repeatedly. If Clemson beats him this year and goes into Columbia and beats him the following year, he'll shut up. More likely, he'll retire.

I, for one, could care less. Dabo coaches at a school that has a 3-2 record in the Orange Bowl, 1-0 in the Cotton Bowl, and 0-1 in the Sugar Bowl, and all of those are considered Major Bowls. Spurrier is coaching at a school that has been to no bowls that are considered Major Bowls.

The way I see it is Dabo was just trying to compare the Ole Balz Sac with Pluto because like many scientist have declared it is not significant enough to even matter. Much like the Ole Balz Sac.

The only reason why SCAR didn't play in a BCS game last year because they don't give out invites to 5th place SEC teams, sorry dirtpeckers you'll never know what its like to ever play in one BCS game.

You know why everybody is so bent out of shape about Spurrier's comments? Because he's usually right. Now is he a low-class prick? Yeah definitely. But the bottom line is we're 3-6 against him, and on a 5 game losing streak. And last year we went to the Orange Bowl because of the BCS system, not because we deserved it. A team that comes up lame against 2 out of the 3 good teams it plays doesn't deserve that spot, but we got it because FSU made it to the national championship, and they couldn't select more than 2 SEC teams. Granted we made the most of it and knocked off a top-10 team once we got there. So when Spurrier spouts off a not-so-subtle complaint that his team deserved a BCS game more than we did, he's got a point. And when he talks about his team owning Clemson recently, he's not wrong. And when Clemson fans come back with the overall record, Spurrier's drinking habits, or USC's arrest record, it sounds petty and it sounds like sour grapes about the on-field results. There's only one way to change all of that. Beat them on our field this November and turn the tables. Make Spurrier start to talk about the past glory days of 2009-13, the "brutal" schedule his team has to endure before playing Clemson, or how his players aren't performing up to his level, and he'll go back to being the drunk, bitter uncle that makes ridiculous statements that everybody laughs at.

being in the SEC keeping them out of a BCS bowl, I say chicken shi*! What kept them out was losing to a very bad Tennessee team. Dabo has beaten the teams he is supposed to beat Stevie. Have you?!!
