I totally agree the pants need the purple between the two orange stripes. It looks odd when everything else is edged in purple. It is as if something is lacking on the uniform.

Rather than a purple stripe in the middle, I’d have tow purple stripes on the outside with orange in the middle.

That's probably due to the fact that the html tag for that word could potentially be used to inject code into the page and force all viewers of the page to run arbitrary commands. It's a really outdated mechanism to prevent these kinds of attacks, which are called XSRF vulnerabilities.
