No one could see that the ball wasn't caught and you are always taught to tag up on a ball in the air .

You could see everyone was caught by surprise when it wasn't caught .

Was the batter rounding first. That is what set up the second out by the baserunners crossing.

Disagree - he shouldn’t have come all the way back

Unless he saw an out call. And the batter should have turned out or 1b Coach should be yelping at them. It’s unfortunate as that should have been a big inning. Mostly unlucky but can’t totally absolve those 2 runners or the 1b coach
