Buy the Dip Flat Final with Dabo.jpg(208.8 K)

"Buy the DiP", which I had placed on a T-shirt, ordering three to be delivered to my home. This was back in May of '24.

There is some back story here...I worked some apparel store channels pretty good (Tiger Town Sports shop, Mr. Knickerbockers, TT Graphics, and others), but none would take it and put it on a Tee and display on their storefront (probably due mostly to fear of copywrite issues with Clemson). Tried to get licensing myself, but that effort too bogged down and ran into snags (never resolved. Leerfield in Atlanta never responded back and swallowed $250 of my money too).

Finally said to heck with it, I'm delivering one of the three T-shirts to Dabo himself and asking him permission to use his image on a Tee shirt promoting the '24 Tigers, and I'l print some myself. This is all his idea anyway, when he started talking about buying stock at the end of last season - which of course gave me the idea for the art and the shirt.

I actually hand-delivered the shirt in a package to Dabo's castle there on Clarendon (mailman happened to be standing there, said he'd just place it on his porch).

I did receive a nice note back from Dabo's financial guy, said Dabo appreciated the creativity but was not interested in his own NIL on a shirt.

So there the road stopped. Nevertheless, I was a big enough believer in Clemson stock after the end of last season to do all this and carry it out back in the month of May.

So here I sit with the only remaining Tee, since I sold one to a Clemson student out of my rideshare car, Dabo has the other, and one is fresh in a plastic package at my house.

I still believe in the shirt and if anyone wants it, let me know. I have one left.

You would have to study it more carefully as I went into pretty good detail in photoshop to create Tillman Hall, the statue of Thos. G Clemson in front of Tillman, Dabo's face and hand holding it, the cartoon Tiger bottom right, and other simulations of a "stock certificate".

So I still say to everyone while there is still time: "Buy the Dip", though the stock is running a little higher now than it was at the end of last season.
