Clemson drops in latest Coaches Poll

Clemson dropped one spot to #11 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers have had a bye week to rest up and game plan for Notre Dame.

Clemson will play Notre Dame at 8 p.m in Memorial Stadium on Oct. 3, and it will be the first appearance for the Fighting Irish in Death Valley since 1977.

Three schools got 1st place votes in the Poll - Ohio State (61 1st place votes), Michigan State (2 1st place votes) and Ole Miss (1 1st place vote).

Other ACC schools rankings include Florida State (#9), Miami (#29), North Carolina State (#30), Duke (#32) and Georgia Tech (#39).

The biggest risers in the poll were California, which jumped 11 spots to a ranking of #24 while the Oregon Ducks fell 11 spots to a 24th ranking.

West Virginia, Mississippi State, Florida and California all made the jump into the Top 25 after big wins on Saturday.

Arizona, Georgia Tech, Missouri and Auburn all dropped out of the Top 25 Coaches Poll.

One interesting note is that SEC schools Auburn and Tennessee still received some Top 25 votes.
