Record 104 Clemson student-athletes set to graduate in May |
CLEMSON, S.C. – A total of 147 student-athletes and members of spirit squads and support staffs are set to graduate or receive certificates in conjunction with Clemson University’s Commencement ceremonies, held May 9-10, 2024 in Littlejohn Coliseum. The 104 student-athletes receiving degrees are the largest single graduation class on record and there are representatives from every Clemson sport.
In total, one hundred seventeen individuals have completed undergraduate degrees, while 22 have earned master’s degrees in the spring. Eight individuals have completed certificate programs in their fields of study as well. The 147 students comprise 39 different degree programs and all 21 sports, as well as spirit squads, managers, athletic trainers and video students. Seventeen members served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, twenty were part of the Tiger Leadership Academy and seventeen others were part of the POWER Women’s Leadership Academy. Among the graduates are members of Men’s Soccer, Men’s Track, Women’s Golf, Football, and Baseball teams that won ACC Titles during their careers, the 2024 Elite Eight men’s basketball program. It also includes members of Clemson’s first Women’s Soccer College Cup team, and sixteen “Team One” members - those on inaugural softball (4), lacrosse (9) and gymnastics (3) teams. In the most recent release, Clemson Athletics set a department record with a 97 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for the 2013-16 cohort in data released by the NCAA, the highest among all public Power Five programs. It was the tenth consecutive cohort in which Clemson’s department-wide GSR was at 91 percent or higher, and third in a row at 95 percent, one of three public Power Five schools nationally to make that claim. Clemson athletes also compiled a 991 Academic Progress Rate, its second-highest mark on record.
