Or does Clemson need to win there pool to be a top 8 regional seed?

The NCAA expanded from 8-16 national seeds few years back. Meaning whoever is hosting a regional is a national seed.

I think he meant a national seed as in a top 8 seed. not just a host.

I think that should lock up Top 8. Even after getting swept at Wake, the projections still had our guys as a Top 8 national seed.

Don't think there will be much to undo that unless we go 0-2 in pool play.

No - but really, really close. We’re 7th in RPI and FSU is 8th. But we should have a fair amount of separation from
FSU. We’ve had a harder overall and non-con SOS. We’re 2 1/2 games up in-conference and 1 game up overall. I think as soon as we pick up a win in the ACC tourney we’re a lock. Wake, UVA, and NC State have a lot of ground to make up to displace Clemson or FSU.

We are ranked 4th in one poll only. 10th I think in the other. That helps but it’s not all that factors in. Quad records, out of conference schedule, strength of schedule, RPI and a few other metrics make up the deciding factors. D1Baseball.com is usually pretty good at predicting the national seeds and right now they have us projected as a #7 seed. We need to win our pool to erase any doubt and not allow another SEC team to sneak into the top 8.
