Clemson hangs third College Football Playoff sign in Death Valley

CLEMSON - Dabo Swinney's Clemson Tigers have made three consecutive trips to the College Football Playoff, and many are looking for the Tigers to make a fourth consecutive trip this season. Monday afternoon, the school added a third College Football Playoff sign to Death Valley.

The Tigers made the 2016 College Football Playoff after the 2015 season and lost to Alabama in the National Championship in Arizona. The Tigers made the 2017 College Football Playoff after the 2016 season and ended the year with a National Championship after a thrilling 35-31 victory over the Crimson Tide. Hunter Renfrow's catch in the corner of the end zone with a few seconds remaining gave the school its second football National Championship.

The Tigers made the 2018 College Football Playoff after the 2017 season, losing to Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Clemson is ranked as high as number one heading into the season.
