Mickey,

I've asked you about this in the past but I didn't send you video related to my question. Some players use the white pads on the exterior of their helmets for extra protection from head injuries. However, other players don't wear the extra protection. What is the difference? Don't we want to protect our players as much as possible? Please see the Tweeter link below.

Thanks,

John

John,

In the video, you linked it looked like the linemen had them on, and the skill position players did not. Maybe it was not a heavy hitting day for the skill guys that day after the Paw Drill. I have been to practice where most everyone had them on. My guess is the practice schedule that day just included less hitting from the skill guys.

Hey Mickey, did Charles Barkley just give enough ammunition for Clemson basketball to make a run at the sweet 16 or maybe longer?

Zack

Zack,

The football staff is great at creating that “chip on the shoulder” attitude, so maybe the basketball staff will as well. There has been a lot of New Mexico State chatter in the preview shows, but I still like Clemson as the favorite in this one.

Mickey,

What is New Mexico State’s strength? What do we have to look out for Friday night? Thank you.

Laney

Laney,

I had Brad Brownell on my radio show Tuesday morning in the final hour. You can find a link wccpfm.com if you wanted to hear the entire interview, but he said they have a very quick point guard who transferred in. Therefore, transition defense would be a key. Also, their two leading scorers and rebounders were their two big guards. He felt like Clemson could have an advantage in size and in the paint. Brownell felt like rebounding would be a big key. He also said they would have a good plan for the game, but players making plays is much more important.
