Tigers Arrive in Snowy Boise

BOISE, Idaho - Clemson's football team landed in snowy Boise, Idaho,

Wednesday afternoon and almost immediately began what will be a full week of

events affiliated with the Humanitarian Bowl.

Some of them even include football.

Tommy Bowden's team will practice today, Friday and Saturday in preparation

for the Dec. 31 game with Louisiana Tech (12:30 p.m., ESPN). The Tigers will

work out at Bronco Stadium each day.

By the time evening came around more than an inch of snow had fallen, a

dusting which easily snarled traffic in the city. But at least one Tiger was

unfazed.

"It's no big deal," said senior guard Will Merritt. "We've done the bowl in

warm weather, why not enjoy this?"

But even before game preparation came the first of several bowl-related

functions. Wednesday afternoon, just a few hours after arriving in Boise,

Clemson was swept away to a team dinner at the Black Angus Beef Bowl.

Today's schedule has Clemson practicing at 11:30 a.m. (Eastern), then

departing on the Thunder Mountain Humanitarian Adventure. The evening will

wrap up with another team dinner at the Cafe Ole' Mexican Fiesta Bowl.

The remainder of the schedule leading up to game day is as follows:

- Friday: Afternoon practice, then both teams will visit children at St.

Adphonsus Regional Medical Center and the Ronald McDonald House. Clemson then

will take part in the Heroes Welcome Tailgate Party sponsored by a Boise

television station.

- Saturday: Morning practice, followed by the World Sports Humanitarian Hall

of Fame "Beyond the Game Dinner" at Boise Centre on the grove.

- Sunday: Breakfast at the team hotel, and later an organized pep rally on

Basque Block.

Monday: Humanitarian Bowl vs. La. Tech.
