Ricky Sapp ready to prove himself

"Right now, I think I'm in great shape," Sapp said. "My body's feeling good. I gained some great weight. My knee is feeling good. I think my mind is in a better place and I'm just feeling back to my old self. So, I'm just ready to get out on the field and prove myself."

With the lockout keeping him out of the Eagles facilities, Sapp headed to Clemson to work out and continue strengthening his surgically repaired knee. Despite not having organized team activities and other official offseason workouts, Sapp feels that he was still able to benefit from the lockout.

"I think it was a blessing in disguise," he said. "It gave me time to get my mind, my body, my heart and everything right. Not only did it help me get my knee right, it got my mind right and helped me get that feeling back that I had a few years ago when I was feeling good and making plays."
