5-star long snapper adds Clemson offer

by -

Mentor High School (Ohio) 2020 long snapper Byron Floyd announced an offer from Clemson Tuesday.

Floyd (6-1 250) is rated as the No. 8 long snapper nationally and a 5-star prospect at the position by Rubio Long Snapping:

"Floyd came over from Ohio and was extremely impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping IL Spring Camp on April 14th, 2019. Massive Long Snapper that can easily pass an eyeball test from a college coach. Body is thick and very powerful. His balance is solid and he is leaning back really well. His snaps speeds are at the college level right now, let alone in a year and a half. Locking down his release point and making sure he is following through with both hands will drastically increase his overall accuracy and push his RSI way up. Excellent day for Floyd and if he snaps the way he did in IL, at VEGAS XXXIV in May, he will easily get a TOP 12 Camp Invite."

Long snappers typically have preferred walk-on offers, with the opportunity for year-to-year full scholarships as the numbers permit.
