Clemson will look to sign two running backs in the class of 2006. Currently, the staff has a verbal commitment from JoJo Cox out of Twiggs County, Georgia. One prospect the staff has offered is Eugene Sowell.
Sowell is being recruited by Dabo Swinney, and he also holds offers from Auburn, Louisville, LSU, and South Carolina. "Clemson would be in my top five schools right now. They are right up there with Auburn. Coach Swinney is a big reason I am high on Clemson. He calls me every week. I want to come up there for a visit. Coach Swinney wants me to come for the Florida State game, and then he mentioned taking an official visit the weekend they have their banquet." Sowell says he would like to have decision by the end of the year. "Once I take my visits, there will be no reason to drag it out. I will visit Clemson, Louisville, Auburn, and South Carolina. After those visits, I will make a decision."
