Quentez Ruffin committed to the Tigers back during the summer. Ruffin has been able to turn his focus to his senior season, a move that appears to be paying big dividends.
"I have played really well so far. We are working on my tapes to send out now. I played really well last Saturday night. I had a lot of good pancake blocks and one really good peel back block. I have not allowed a sack all season. The one mistake I made, I still prevented the player from making the tackle."
Ruffin has been hearing from several big time programs, but he is not waivering from his commitment.
"South Carolina, Southern Cal, Florida, NC State, Tennessee, and Central Florida have all called. I have told them all that I am a firm commitment to Clemson."
Ruffin was scheduled to be at the Clemson-Georgia Tech, but was unable to make because his high school's game got pushed back to Saturday night.
"I was unable to be at the Georgia Tech game. I will be at the South Carolina game for sure. I know that is a big rivalry game. I might try and make it to one before that, but I am just not sure."
Coach Bowden gave Ruffin a call on Tuesday night, and the conversation went well according to Ruffin.
"I got to catch up on some things from Coach Bowden. I don't get to talk to him that much, but Coach Swinney and Coach Scott call me at least twice a week. We stay in touch quite a bit. We always tell each other about our games."
One of Ruffin's teammates, TJ Williams, is one of the Tigers top WR targets this year. Williams has been rumored to be leaning toward the Tigers for a little while now, but in the meantime Williams has been handing in outstanding performances on the field.
"TJ tells me his favoring Clemson still. He said Clemson and FSU are the two schools he likes. He has been making a lot of plays for us this year. The last two games, he has returned a kickoff for a touchdown."
