Clemson continued its momentum in the 2019 class with the addition of highly-touted IMG Academy (Fla.) punter Aidan Swanson, Swanson confirmed to TigerNet Monday.
Swanson visited Clemson over the weekend and was offered a full scholarship on Monday. He is a second Clemson commitment in three days for 2019, joining Saturday tight end pledge Jaelyn Lay. The Clemson 2019 class is now up to four, as the two join 4-star safety Joseph Charleston and 3-star receiver Brannon Spector.
"Ever since I was a little kid I have dreamed of playing college football. Today I can finally say I will play college football," Swanson posted on Twitter. "To my brother and sister, family and friends who have been with me through this journey, I can't thank all of you enough for being there for me and being by my side.
"I am beyond excited to announced that I am officially committed to Clemson University!"
Swanson is rated as the No. 1 2019 punter by Kornblue kicking and the No. 9 by Kohl's kicking.
"Aidan is a left-footed class of 2019 punter/kicker out of IMG Academy in Florida," Swanson's profile reads on Kornblue kicking. "Aidan has been at or near the top of our Fab 50 Rankings in his class for several years as a punter and kicker. He is currently the Fab 50’s #1 nationally ranked punter in the class of 2019. At our Summer 2017 Kornblue Kicking Showcase, Aidan earned Punting Champion honors.
"His strengths are punting and kickoffs, but he is a strong FG kicker as well."
He had an offer as a preferred walk-on at Clemson and a full scholarship offer from Nebraska before Monday.
